What we build: business sites, WooCommerce stores, membership sites

Most of what we build runs on WordPress, which gives you a site your team can edit without calling a developer. Within that, three kinds of project come up again and again.

  • Business sites

Small business website design for clinics, contractors and local services: clear service pages, a page for each location and calls to action that make booking or enquiring the obvious next step. Charleston Hand Therapy Center is one example.

  • WooCommerce stores

WooCommerce development for shops that need a catalogue, a checkout that works on a phone and the payment and shipping set-up the business runs on. Planning a store? Start with our WooCommerce launch checklist.

  • Membership sites

Sites where customers sign up, pay and come back: member areas, recurring memberships and connections to apps. For DROBE Stogies, memberships link to an app with Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes.

Every build includes

  • Custom WordPress website design, made for your business rather than adapted from a theme demo.
  • Responsive layouts checked on phones, tablets and desktops.
  • UX/UI design focused on the one thing you most want visitors to do.
  • Content integration: your text and images, or new copy from our SEO content writing team.
  • Launch-ready SEO: titles, descriptions, headings, structured data, a sitemap and redirects from old URLs.

How a build runs: discovery, design and development, content, testing and launch

Every website project follows the same four stages, so you always know what happens next and what we need from you.

  1. Discovery and planning

We learn about your business, customers and competitors, agree the pages and features the site needs and map the content. If you are replacing a site, we list every old URL that has to redirect, so you keep the search traffic you already have.

  2. Design and development

We design the key pages first and refine them with you, then build the site in WordPress so your team can edit it.

  3. Content creation and integration

We add your text, images and products, or write SEO-first copy for you, and connect forms, booking, payments and anything else the site relies on.

  4. Testing, launch and maintenance

We test on real phones and browsers, check speed and accessibility, then launch. Afterwards our WordPress management service keeps the site updated, backed up and secure.

Redesigning an existing site? Our website redesign SEO checklist covers the steps that protect your rankings during the move.

Recent builds

Four recent projects, from a physical therapy practice with four clinics to a members-only lounge. Results are from each project’s case study.

The Rehab Carolina homepage, with a physical therapy hero image and links to its Charleston-area locations.

Rehab Carolina

A 30-year practice with four Charleston-area clinics needed a website that matched its reputation. We rebuilt it mobile-first, gave every location its own optimized page and made booking the obvious next step.

Speed, accessibility and SEO built in

A good-looking site that loads slowly, shuts some visitors out or hides from Google is not finished. These are part of every build, not extras.

  • Speed

We build to pass Google’s Core Web Vitals: the main content appears within 2.5 seconds, the page responds to a tap within 200 milliseconds and nothing jumps around while it loads (Google’s thresholds on web.dev (opens in a new tab)). Our Core Web Vitals guide explains each one.

  • Accessibility

We design against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA: readable contrast, full keyboard access, visible focus, descriptive links and image text, and touch targets big enough for a thumb.

  • SEO

Every page gets a unique title and description, a clean heading structure, structured data and a readable URL, and old URLs redirect to their new homes. Our SEO services build on that foundation after launch.

Timelines and pricing

  • 4–6 weeks

    a typical business website

  • 3–12 months

    larger builds and ongoing programmes

Typical timelines. Yours is agreed in the proposal, before work starts.

Timelines. A business website typically takes 4–6 weeks; larger builds and ongoing programmes run 3–12 months. The exact timeline depends on scope and on how quickly content and feedback come together.

Pricing. Every project is quoted individually, after you contact us and we understand what the site has to do. An online store with memberships is a different job from a lead-generation site, so a fixed price list would mislead more than it helps.

Ask for a quote: we reply within 1 hour.

What shapes the quote

  • Functionality: an online store, memberships, booking or integrations.
  • Timeline: a fixed launch date can change how the work is staffed.
  • Marketing needs: SEO, content or ads alongside the build.
  • Content: whether you supply it or we write it.

Questions about web design

Short answers first. Anything else, ask us directly.

Do you only build websites on WordPress?

Mostly, yes. We build on WordPress and WooCommerce because they let your team edit pages and products without a developer, and they scale from a simple business site to a store with memberships and an app.

How much does a website cost?

Every project is quoted individually, after you contact us and tell us what the site needs to do. Functionality, timeline and marketing needs all shape the quote: an online store with memberships is a bigger job than a lead-generation site.

How long does a new website take?

A business website typically takes 4–6 weeks; larger builds and ongoing programmes run 3–12 months. The exact timeline depends on scope and how quickly content and feedback come together, and we agree it in the proposal before work starts.

Will my new website be good for SEO?

Yes. Every build includes the technical foundations search engines look for: fast, mobile-friendly pages, unique titles and descriptions, structured data, a sitemap and redirects from old URLs. Ranking for competitive searches also takes content and ongoing SEO, which we can provide.

Can you redesign my site without losing rankings?

Yes. Before launch we map every old URL to its new page and set up permanent (301) redirects, keep the content that already ranks and check the new site in Google Search Console after launch.

Who looks after the website after launch?

We can. Our WordPress management service keeps core, plugins and themes updated, backs the site up, monitors uptime and security and handles content changes. It runs on WPCentrify, our own WordPress management platform.

Tell us what you’re building.

A short message is enough. We read every enquiry personally and reply with honest next steps, even if that means pointing you elsewhere.
