The Art of Clean: a 21-page SEO foundation on a small-business budget

An SEO-first website for a local service business: 21 pages for a San Diego County residential cleaning company, including 12 service-area pages, a 20-question FAQ and two booking paths, built on WordPress on a small-business budget. The strategy came first, then the content, then the design.

The company

The Art of Clean is a residential cleaning company serving San Diego County. Alongside residential and deep cleaning it takes on the jobs many cleaners avoid: extreme and hoarding cleanups, plus window washing and pressure washing.

That mix is a strength, but it is hard to communicate. A family dealing with a hoarding cleanup needs reassurance and discretion, not a price list. And in a crowded local market, a cleaning company website has to rank in the right towns before anyone reads it at all.

The strategy: competitor analysis, keyword clusters and service-area mapping

On a small-business budget there was no room for pages that do not earn their place, so the plan came before any design. We worked through three steps:

  1. Competitor analysis. Which local cleaners rank, for which services and towns, and where their pages are thin.
  2. Keyword clusters. Searches grouped by intent, from “residential cleaning San Diego” to specific services such as deep cleaning and hoarding cleanup, so each page targets one clear group and pages do not compete with each other.
  3. Service-area mapping. The towns The Art of Clean serves, mapped to their own pages, so the company can rank where its customers actually live.

The messaging followed the same research. For hoarding and extreme cleaning we wrote with compassion and no judgment, because that is the tone people in that situation are looking for.

What we built: 21 pages and two booking paths

We wrote every page through our SEO content writing service and built the site on WordPress with our web design team. The result is 21 pages:

PagesWhat they do
Core pagesThe homepage and the pages that introduce the company.
6 service pagesOne per service, including deep cleaning, extreme and hoarding cleanups, window washing and pressure washing.
12 service-area pagesGeo-targeted pages for the areas served, so the company can rank in each one.
Testimonials pageCustomer feedback in one place.
FAQ page20 questions and answers, so customers get answers before they call.

Every page has its own meta title, meta description and focus keyword, set as part of our SEO service. The site offers two booking paths: instant booking for routine cleans, and a custom quote for larger or more sensitive jobs, so no visitor has to fit the wrong form.

In the client’s words

The Art of Clean’s team described the project in their own words:

MarQira didn’t just build us a website – they built a complete digital marketing foundation. Their understanding of our unique position in the San Diego market and their ability to communicate our compassionate approach to extreme cleaning has been invaluable. The content is exactly what we needed to stand out.

What we are measuring next

The site is still in its early stages, so we are not publishing results yet. SEO takes time to show, and a projection is not a result.

What we are tracking:

  • Rankings for the focus keywords, such as “residential cleaning San Diego”, and for each service-area page in its own town.
  • Organic visits to the 12 service-area pages compared with the rest of the site.
  • How many visitors choose instant booking and how many ask for a custom quote.

We will add the numbers here when there is enough data to report them honestly. In the meantime, see more projects in our work.
