[[NEEDS: legal review]]
Who we are
MarQira is a digital marketing and web design agency based in Pakistan, working with businesses in the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe. When you use this website or send us an enquiry, MarQira decides how your personal data is used, which makes us the “controller” of that data under data protection law. You can reach us through our contact form.
This policy covers marqira.com only. The websites we build for clients have their own privacy policies, and so does wpcentrify.com.
What we collect and why
We collect as little as we need. In short: what you choose to send us, plus a few technical details that keep the form working and free of spam. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
When you send a project enquiry
- What you type or choose: the services you are interested in, your message, your name and email address, and, if you add them, your company and website.
- Context sent with the form: the page you sent it from, the page that referred you to it and your browser type, so we know which part of the site you were reading.
- Your agreement: the form asks you to confirm that we may store these details to reply to you.
We use these details to reply to your enquiry, discuss your project and, if you go ahead, prepare a proposal. Under UK and EU data protection law, our legal bases are taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries.
Keeping the form free of spam
To stop automated abuse, the server uses your IP address to limit how many enquiries can be sent from one connection in a short time, and the form records when you started filling it in. If we switch on a captcha check, the provider of that check also receives your IP address, only to tell people from bots.
When we reply by email
We answer enquiries by email. We keep that correspondence so we can reply and refer back to it.
Search data and cookies
We use Google Search Console, which shows us how marqira.com appears in Google Search: the searches it appears for, and how often people click through. Google reports these figures in aggregate. Search Console adds no tracking code to this website and sets no cookies on your device.
We do not run other analytics, and the site sets no analytics or advertising cookies. On the homepage, your choice to pause or play animations is remembered for the current browser tab only, in session storage, which your browser clears when the tab closes.
Who we share it with
Enquiries are delivered by email to our inbox. The only other parties that handle them are the providers that host this website and carry that email, and only to provide that service. We do not sell personal data or share it with advertisers. We may disclose data where the law requires it.
Where it is processed
MarQira is based in Pakistan and works with clients in several countries, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in, including in Pakistan. Where data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on recognized safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses approved for that purpose.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), enquiries go only to the people who need to answer them, and access to our systems is limited to the team.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: for [[NEEDS: retention period for enquiries, for example 24 months]], then deleted.
- Clients: for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as tax, accounting and contract law require.
- Spam-protection data: the IP address count used to limit repeated enquiries is kept only for the short time window it covers.
Your rights
If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format and to withdraw your agreement at any time. You can also complain to your data protection authority: the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in the UK, or the authority in your EU country.
If you are in the United States, some states, including California, give you similar rights to know what we hold, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising.
To use any of these rights, email us. We may ask you to confirm who you are, and we will reply within one month.
This website is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
Contact
For anything about your personal data, use the contact form and start your message with “Privacy”. The same form is for new projects. Our terms of use cover the rest of how this website may be used.
